Your gateway to the entire Big Six expedition. Johannesburg is Africa's most connected hub β allowing direct or single-stop flights from all major Australian cities. Today is about arrival, recovery from the long-haul flight, and meticulous expedition preparation.
Mozambique's Bazaruto Archipelago is globally renowned for its warm Indian Ocean currents, pristine coral reefs, and extraordinary pelagic fish density. Three days of dedicated offshore fishing with experienced local skippers on purpose-built game fishing vessels.
The Central Kalahari is one of the world's largest game reserves and one of the expedition's most demanding overland sectors. Deep sand tracks, zero mobile reception, and minimal recovery support demand that every vehicle is fully prepared and every driver competent.
San Bushmen heritage encounters β one of Africa's oldest indigenous cultures, still present in the Central Kalahari. Opportunity to learn traditional tracking, fire-making, and bushcraft from guides with ancestral knowledge of this landscape.
The Okavango Delta is one of the world's last great wilderness ecosystems β a vast inland delta covering over 15,000 kmΒ² that floods annually from Angolan rains. The fishing here is exceptional and the wildlife encounters are unlike anywhere else on the continent.
Where the cold Benguela upwelling meets the Namibian desert coast. This collision of ecosystems creates extraordinarily rich marine life β and some of Africa's most dramatic scenery. The Skeleton Coast earned its name from the shipwrecks scattered along its shores.
Dry season waterholes are the key. Position before sunrise and sunset β predator activity is concentrated around these water sources during JulyβOctober. The floodlit waterhole at Okaukuejo camp is one of Africa's great wildlife experiences.
The Okavango Panhandle is widely regarded as Africa's finest tigerfish fishery. The narrow, papyrus-lined channel concentrates fish and creates extraordinary topwater fishing β tigerfish exploding through the surface to crush surface lures in the lilies is one of Africa's most heart-stopping fishing experiences.
Fishing the upper Zambezi with the distant roar of Victoria Falls β Mosi-oa-Tunya, "The Smoke That Thunders" β creating a backdrop unlike any other fishing experience on earth. Giant vundu catfish, tigerfish, bream, and the elusive upper Zambezi pike inhabit these legendary waters.

One of the world's great bucket-list fishing experiences β casting for tigerfish in the Zambezi gorges directly below Victoria Falls. The thunder of the falls reverberates off the canyon walls, spray drifts overhead, and tigerfish hit with ferocious aggression in the aerated, oxygen-rich water.
Lake Kariba is one of the world's largest man-made lakes β a vast inland sea with extraordinary tigerfish populations, dramatic scenery, and wildlife encounters on the shoreline. The houseboat experience allows sunset fishing, night fishing for catfish, and wildlife viewing from the water.
Hwange National Park is home to one of Africa's largest elephant populations β estimated at 40,000+ animals. The park is also one of the continent's best places to find African wild dogs, one of the most endangered large predators on earth.
The Chobe River represents among the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Elephant herds of 50β200 animals cross the river daily. The fishing is seasonal but excellent β tigerfish and bream inhabit the same waters as hippos, crocodiles, and swimming elephants.
